Songs About Jesus
My Shepherd
I started singing the first two songs the other night after praying for a friend.
Please wait for the music to start.

Today I was outside and noticed the butterflies swarming my neighbor's butterfly bush. There is a picture of the bush below. I think the orange or rust butterfly is so pretty.
Thank you for looking at my pictures. There is a slideshow in the post below, that I did earlier today.

The other day, I was outside in the back yard and saw two butterflies, dancing around, as if they were playing. Of course I had to go inside and get my camera, because they were very close to me. I think I found them on my neighbor's butterfly bushes across the fence. Then I had to go around looking for some more beautiful things. To view the slideshow, click View All Images.

This is a giveaway to celebrate my One Year Blogaversary. The three items are for three different people. I found the gifts at a Christian Bookstore, where I had an extra discount card. I thought they would be pretty easy to mail. The first person drawn can choose what they would like. I deleted the picture I had made of the angel, and I have already taped the box back up. So I will refer you to a website to see it. Just leave a comment by Tuesday at midnight, and I will announce the winners on Wednesday.

My dear friend, Deborah, at Songs from my Journey, has blessed me with this sweet award in honor of my One Year Blogaversary.
That was such a nice thing to do, Deb, thank you so much.
I would like to pass it along to Joyfulsister, at Encouragement From My Heart. Her blog is very uplifting with lovely music and beautiful poems she writes.
And also to Adrienne, at With A Grateful Heart. She also loves music and ministers as a Chaplin. She has lovely pictures and inspirational songs and verses on her blog.
Today is my one year blogaversary and 250th post. It is hard to believe it was last July 12, 2007 when I posted my first little post. My header and sidebars were very plain. I have learned a little more since then, and have met many dear, sweet friends. Thank you all who read my blog. I am blessed by your friendships.
Lately, I have been busy working on music I have written. The owner of a local piano gallery here liked one of my songs and thought I should get it published. This is one I have not put on my blog. I would love to get something published, but it is just not that easy. Hopefully, one day my dream will come true. I also want to learn how to put music on the computer.
I thought I would share some more pictures. Most are from neighbor's yards.

Genesis 3:8
The voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.
My soul, now that the cool of the day has come, retire awhile and hearken to the voice of thy God. He is always ready to speak with thee when thou art prepared to hear. If there be any slowness to commune it is not on His part, but altogether on thine own, for He stands at the door and knocks, and if His people will but open He rejoices to enter. But in what state is my heart, which is my Lord's garden? May I venture to hope that it is well trimmed and watered, and is bringing forth fruit fit for Him? If not, He will have much to reprove, but still I pray Him to come unto me, for nothing can so certainly bring my heart into a right condition as the presence of the Sun of Righteousness, who brings healing in His wings. Come, therefore, O Lord, my God, my soul invites Thee earnestly, and waits for Thee eagerly. Come to me, O Jesus, my well-beloved, and plant fresh flowers in my garden, such as I see blooming in such perfection in Thy matchless character! Come, O my Father, who art the Husbandman, and deal with me in Thy tenderness and prudence! Come, O Holy Spirit, and bedew my whole nature, as the herbs are now moistened with the evening dews. O that God would speak to me. Speak, Lord, for Thy servant heareth! O that He would walk with me; I am ready to give up my whole heart and mind to Him, and every other thought is hushed. I am only asking what He delights to give. I am sure that He will condescend to have fellowship with me, for He has given me His Holy Spirit to abide with me for ever. Sweet is the cool twilight, when every star seems like the eye of heaven, and the cool wind is as the breath of celestial love. My Father, my elder Brother, my sweet Comforter, speak now in lovingkindness, for Thou hast opened mine ear and I am not rebellious.

Quotes ~
"Without God, there is no virtue, because there's no prompting of the conscience. Without God, we're mired in the material, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
- Ronald Reagan
"God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."
-Thomas Jefferson
I really like what Karla Dornacher wrote in her E-Newsletter ~
As much as I'm enjoying June, I'm still looking forward to next month and celebrating the 4th of July! Partly because of Independence Day and partly because the 4th is my youngest granddaughter's birthday! But as I worked on the "Set Free" Clip Art Kit, I couldn't help but think about, not only the freedoms we can so easily take for granted living in this great nation, but also the freedom that is ours in Christ and how important it is for us to walk in and celebrate that freedom every day. Jesus said, "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free." True freedom is knowing the truth... the truth of who God is and the truth of who we are in Him... the truth of God's Word vs. the lies of the enemy and the culture we live in... the truth that sets us free from the past, empowers us to live today, and leads us into eternity.
May the stars and stripes remind you, not only of 4th of July, but of your freedom in Christ... and cause you to stop and consider the cost of both these privileges so undeserved!
God bless America... and God bless you!
