Jesus Gives Sight to One Born Blind, from a Bible Printed by Edward Gover, 1870s

Psalm 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Psalm 111:4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

Psalm 112:4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious and full of compassion, and righteous.

Psalm 145:8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion, slow to anger, and of great mercy.

Matthew 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Matthew 14:14 And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matthew 15:32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

Matthew 20:34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Luke 7:13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

"As the Deer"

Deer Near Cabin by M. Caroselli
Deer Near Cabin

My daughter feeds the deer, around her property, seeds and apples. At times they have seen as many as 13 deer eating in the yard. It is cute to see all the deer sharing food with the rabbits. The neighbor's peacocks also wander down to feast. One day she was at the kitchen window and said, "Oh, there are two Bambi's out there." They were cute babies born recently.

They have rescued a couple of babies who were abandoned by their mother. One was crying out, running along their fence. They fed it goats milk, I believe, and took to a lady who cares for them.

"Peace In the Midst of the Storm"

My Saviour by Chiu
My Saviour

Peace In the Midst of the Storm

Hide me in Thy secret place,
Under the shadow of Thy wings,
For I find my rest in Thee,
Peace in the midst of the storm.
Hold me ever close to Thee,
Precious lamb of Calvary.
Near to Thee will always be
Peace in the midst of the storm.

Thou hast been my refuge, Lord.
I run to Thee for quiet peace,
For Thou art my hiding place,
Peace in the midst of the storm.
Ever steadfast, ever sure,
Jesus is Thy love for me.
In Thy presence, Lord, I find
Peace in the midst of the storm.

Lord I cast my cares on Thee,
For Thou, Oh Lord dost care for me.
Underneath thy wings I find,
Peace in the midst of the storm.
Lord, I place my trust in Thee,
Jesus, Lord and God to me.
In Thy name will always be
Peace in the midst of the storm.

"Peace, Perfect Peace"

To Everything There is by Chiu
To Everything There is

Peace, Perfect Peace

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round?
On Jesus' bosom naught but calm is found.

Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away?
In Jesus' keeping we are safe and they.

Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown?
Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.

Peace, perfect peace, death shadowing us and ours?
Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers.

It is enough: earth's struggles soon shall cease
And Jesus, call us to heaven's perfect peace.

Words: Edward H. Bickersteth (1875)

Finding Scripture

Psalms by Helen Brown
Psalms

I thought I would share a wonderful way to search for scripture. Go here to heartlight's Search God's Word. You can put in a word, phrase, or scripture reference. You are also able to choose different translations and Bible studies. I love this website and use it frequently. Another Bible search website can be found at Bible Gateway.com.

Proverbs 30:5 For every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

"My Jesus I Love Thee"

This is one of my favorite hymns. Many times at night it has been my prayer. I have also heard it when eating at the Cracker Barrel, and what a blessing it was to me. Praise the Lord.

Blessing by Donald Zolan
Blessing

My Jesus I Love Thee

My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign;
My gracious Redeemer, my Saviour art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

I love Thee because Thou hast first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree;
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

I'll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death-dew lies cold on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I'll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;
I'll sing with the glittering crown on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

Words: William R. Featherston, 1864 (only 16 years old at the time)

"Touch My Heart"

Yesterday was such a beautiful day, I decided to take a walk up to the top of my street. I saw some neighbors who are really having a difficult time. So many people today are hurting. I feel the Lord has led me to share a song I wrote some years ago.

Behold the Lamb by T. C. Chiu
Behold the Lamb

You can listen to the music here.

Touch My Heart

When the pain is deep in my heart
I will call upon my Jesus.
He will take away the pain.
He hears the cries of my heart.
Jesus, Jesus, touch my heart.
Take all the bitterness Lord.
Only thou canst make me whole.
Touch thou my heart, Lord, I pray.

When the burdens come my way,
I will call upon my Jesus.
He will bear my burdens for me.
When I am weak, He is strong.
Jesus , Jesus, carry me.
I cast my cares upon Thee.
Thou alone dost care for me.
Thou art the strength of my heart.

When I seem to lose the way,
I will call upon my Jesus.
He will lead me with His hand.
He knows the cries of my heart.
Jesus, Jesus, lead the way.
Thou art the Truth and the Life.
Thou alone hast plans for me.
Show me Thy will, Lord, I pray.

"Lord, You Are Merciful"

This is another little song that I wrote.

Lord, You Are Merciful

Lord, you are merciful, Oh Lord God so merciful.
You are filled with tender love and compassion.
Father of mercies, Great is your faithfulness.
Great is your lovingkindness unto us.
You are so good, and your mercy endures
Forever, and ever and ever, Amen.
Lord, you are merciful, Lord so gracious.
Your love endures forever more.

"This Is My Father's World"

Lighthouse Cove by Carl Valente
Lighthouse Cove

This is my Father's world, And to my listening ears, All nature sings, and round me rings The music of the spheres. This is my Father's world, I rest me in the thought Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world, The birds their carols raise, The morning light, the lily white Declare their Maker's praise. This is my Father's world, He shines in all that's fair; In the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world, O let me ne'er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father's world, The battle is not done, The Lord Who died shall be satisfied, And earth and heaven be one.

New Songs

Graphics Courtesy of Snapshots of Joy

Years ago while walking at a par course, I wrote the following little song.
I believe children would enjoy singing it.

You can listen to the music here.

New Songs

He has put new songs in my heart,
New songs in my heart
Songs of hope in the Lord our God,
Flowing from my heart
Flowing like rivers of water,
From the fountain of life,
Songs of joy and gladness,
New songs in my heart.

He has put gladness in my heart,
Gladness in my heart
Songs of joy in the Lord our God,
Flowing from my heart
Flowing like rivers of water,
From the fountain of life,
Songs of joy and gladness,
New songs in my heart.

Hymns

I posted the hymn "When Morning Gilds the Skies" because it was one of the many hymns
I used to play on my piano. It came to my remembrance recently. Today there are many
contemporary songs in worship services. People may not be familiar with some of the beautiful
old hymns of the past and I plan to post more of them.

"When Morning Gilds the Skies"

Graphics Courtesy of Snapshots of Joy

When Morning Gilds the Skies

When morning gilds the skies, My heart awaking cries,
May Jesus Christ be praised! Alike at work and prayer,
To Jesus I repair. May Jesus Christ be praised!

When sleep her balm denies, My silent spirit sighs,
May Jesus Christ be praised. When evil thoughts molest,
With this I shield my breast, May Jesus Christ be praised.

Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find,
May Jesus Christ be praised. Or fades my earthly bliss?
My comfort still is this, May Jesus Christ be praised.

In heaven's eternal bliss The loveliest strain is this:
May Jesus Christ be praised! The powers of darkness fear,
When this sweet chant they hear: May Jesus Christ be praised!

White Rose with Larkspur

Philippians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things.

My Rosy Girl

Last year around this time, I had to put my dear old dog Rosy to sleep, as she was suffering with cancer. She was a large part lab dog, and I miss her. I wrote this song about her.

My Rosy Girl

Your face was pretty as a rose, my Rosy girl,
Pretty as a rose.
My big black dog, my faithful friend, you blessed my life.
And though you're gone, my sweetest girl,
You'll live forever in my heart,
For memories linger all around, my Rosy girl.

The racing squirrels you loved to chase, my Rosy girl,
Leaping through the yard.
The sounds of night were your delight, on summer eves.
All chirping birds, late evening walks,
And chasing rabbits down the lane,
These were your favorite things to do, my Rosy girl.

God's gentle music you enjoyed, my Rosy girl,
Soothing all your soul.
A happy howl, such fun to you, loving to talk.
Loud thunderstorms, no fear to you,
Your brave heart calmly listened to.
Your life was happy til the end, my Rosy girl.

The music that goes with it makes it pretty.

Greetings

Hello to all my friends with the beautiful blogs. I also would like to have a lovely blog, but I can't figure out how to get one picture on here. I also had a fancier template in mind. Ha. I have written some music and may share some of it with you. Pictures and decorations are the first things I need to figure out. I am happy to have come this far, believe me. Practice make perfect, they say.
