Moravian Band

I found this neat video of the Moravian Band celebrating their 550th anniversary at Wake Forest University Wait Chapel. I wanted to show it to you, because I am posting some of their beautiful Easter hymns. The joyous last song is "Sing Hallelujah, Praise the Lord!"

You're welcome, Jodi. Sometimes I stay up way too late researching these things. ;o) But it is fun.

How do you find such things?? That was very interesting.

Nancy, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I used to belong to a Moravian Church and still love the music. There are plenty of them around where I live. :o) I was looking for Moravian and Easter music and happened to look up Moravian Band.

Did you see your award?

Karen, Isn't it wonderful! They go around the town playing on Easter Eve. I am going to do a post on that.

I love band music like this! The setting makes it even more special.

A few years ago we attended a Scottish fair (no, we're not Scottish...just curious). At one point in the day a special presentation was under way... a lone bagpiper began playing Amazing Grace. Within minutes all 1000 (yes, 1000!) bagpipers were playing. It was one of the more incredible (in search of an apt word) times in our lives. We wept, both my knight and I. It was so very moving. We'll never forget it.
