Word Filled Wednesday

Psalm 147:16-17

He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

That verse brings to my imagination being cast out in the cold and snow and looking in at the love of the Lord in the lives of His children but being forever shut out in the cold......may people realize that this is what will in essence happen on that day when the book of life is opened.

Oooooo - we've had these scenes at our house, off and on, since Thanksgiving. Such a new (only our second winter here) experience for us and definitely one of God's awesome beauties. Loved the verse you found for the photo. Thank you for a lovely Word-Filled Wednesday. :)

I can totally relate to this; especially this past week here in the USA. The snow hit the East Coast hard. My brother got stuck four times trying to navigate the snow and ice on his own street. God is awesome - sometimes He shuts everything down so we can focus on Him.

Blessings Precious Cathy,

Put on the wool sweaters and stay warm! Precious photo and powerful verse! Would not want to be cast out in the cold...

...just read a heart breaking post
series of a blogger that lost everything in a fire... pray for her and her family and the discouragement. She has such a grateful heart and has closed comments but other bloggers have a prayer hop and a special post to her.

Some of the other comments on this verse certainly bring light to this. Great choice! Great shot! Hoping it melts without leaving ice for you. No more slips and falls, you take care and stay in off the icey snows. Be careful, wise and well.

Peace in 2011 and today,
Peggy

I really like the picture of snow and you have a verse with snow in it. Peggy did also and I have never seen it. I guess it just didn't catch my eye when I read through the Bible.

We had the most beautiful snow here where it almost never lays, at least 6 inches. It looked like a winter wonderland and I did not have a camera. I have one now but the snow is about gone.

Thanks for sharing the verse. God did not leave out anything. He created it all. To me that is so amazing and I'm so glad I know Him and all of you here in "blogland".

Beautiful picture and beautiful words. It has been a while since I visited, but I am Christmas break, so I am back in the saddle for a few days at least. Hope you are doing well and had a great Christmas.

Wow! Looks like home....how are you? We are supposed to get more snow, but most of it has missed us.
I love the verse!
