"Hosanna"

Christ's Entry into Jerusalem, 1632 by Peter Paul Rubens
Christ's Entry into Jerusalem, 1632

This hymn is sung on Palm Sunday. There are parts in the Moravian hymnal, but I will try to post the words correctly.

Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes! Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes!
Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Blessed is He that comes, Blessed is He that comes,
He that comes in the name of the Lord! He that comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes! Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes!
Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest!

Christian Gregor (1765)

Be sure to listen to the pretty music here.

I read in the newspaper that the service will be broadcast live on WSJS 600/1200 AM radio.

My friend Barb, from Tidbits and Treasures, sent me this information from her website on Holy Week and Easter.

Thank you, Mimi. I have noticed lots of people are googling "Hosanna."

I thought your post on Calvary was great, but my computer is acting up and sometimes won't let me comment! Have a blessed week.

Easter is a celebration time for sure one of my favorite holidays!!

Cathy said...

Yes, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
-- John 3:16-17
