Severe Thunderstorm

We were blessed this afternoon with a very refreshing rain. We have had a drought for awhile now. Grass was turning very brown. I heard on the weather report that winds were 60 to 70 mph, and I did hear some sirens. After the storm, it felt so cool outside that I did not mind picking up all the sticks and branches. Temperatures have been in the 90's, so 70's are quite a relief. I heard a man on our local radio station say he was so excited about the rain, he felt like walking home. And of course, I did take my little camera outside to take some pictures. It is so nice to have time to enjoy God's beautiful creation. I did another post on refreshing rain here. You can click on the pictures for more details.

Very lovely photos, Cathy. Don't you just love how beauitful everything looks after a rain? We have been in a typical summer thunderstorm pattern for a couple of weeks now and the rain is such a blessed relief from the drought and this oppressive heat. I do wish we didn't have the wind and lightening that accompanies them - but what awesome evidences of God's power in creation.

I had heard that there were severe thunder storms in North Carolina..glad it turned out to be good for you...
the world always smells so fresh and clean after a rain...even with all the branches left on the ground...

Beautiful pictures! I love it after a rain. We, however have had enough rain here to suit me. I'm having a hard time keeping up with the weeds. My parents are only 45 minutes away, and they've missed alot of the rain we've had, so it's quite dry there.

Thanks, Patricia, I thought about you as I was taking the pictures. We do love to capture God's beauty. :o)

Mimi, it wasn't too bad here, just a downpour with thunder and wind. ((Hugs)) back ~

Thanks, Deb, I know your parents need the rain for their gardens.

Yes, Nancy, some of the things happening are terrible, and they are in the Book. Yesterday we did have relief from the heat, but today it's back up in the 90's. We are supposed to have some more storms.

I agree with Nancy on this weather stuff.....weather, gas, politics, food shortages....the trumpet is going to sound.

Deby, it very well could. And so many are not thinking at all about His return.
