My Yard .... More Added

I bought myself a little digital camera, and I am trying to learn how to use it. I especially want to take pictures of flowers and birds. It has taken me awhile to learn how to get the pictures on the computer and onto my blog.

This is a picture of a cabbage plant that was not looking too good. But look how it has bloomed with the yellow flowers. It is in front of my porch. Part of my flag is showing, and if you click to enlarge it, you can see the pansy plant and "Make a joyful noise" plaque my friend gave me.

This is one of the most beautiful hanging baskets I have ever had. My little camera does not capture all the bright vivid colors. My sweet brother gave it to me for my birthday.

Try to ignore the leaves all around that I left for the winter. I am working on doing something with them.

This is just a practice post with my pictures. Thanks for joining me.

Pretty azaleas, but ivy needs to go!

Clematis on left side of front porch ~

Just wanted to share a few of my flowers with you ~
I believe I'm having fun with my new toy, don't you?

I love the petunias, Cathy. I almost bought my Mother a hanging basket on Saturday. They were so pretty!

And, I noticed you finally got the pictures on your computer. Wonderful!

You're doing well! It's funny that you posted this. I was just saying today that I really should get a digital for myself and learn how to put pictures on instead of always needing to ask my daughter to do it. Lovely flowers!

Still trying to think of a memoir! (Been away all day and haven't been able to think on it much.)

Oh. I think I forgot to say that your flowers are just lovely.

Thanks, Barb, they have stayed pretty since April 1. Yes finally, I did get them on my blog. I guess you motivated me with all your pretty pictures. :)

Thank you, Maxine, if I can do it, you can too. I have never been able to use a camera, nor been too interested in them, until recently. Go over to Saija's blog and look at her memoir. :) I think you will enjoy doing it. Yes, you did say they were lovely.

Very good pictures. And the more you use it the more comfortable you'll get with it.

Saija, Oh, no, bless your hearts! Thank you, my little flower garden is on the other side, but it needs some work before showing it. :) I planted some flowers yesterday before the rain. I wish you could be here too. I will enjoy it for you both and pray that your springtime comes soon!

Oh, your flowers are beautiful, Cathy! I can't wait for mine to come back...one day I'll be able to post pictures of my yard, minus the snow. At least I'm not the only one here with snow...ours was melting as Saija was getting some!

Thank you, Deb. I feel sad for you Canadians, after the long cold winter. And I like your new picture, you young looking grandmother!

What gorgeous flowers! You have a green thumb! I really like the brick on your house, it is soooo pretty, especially with all the flowers in front of it!

Hugs, Sharon

Thank you, Sharon, I have been here since 1967, and the house was a few years old when we moved in. Seems like my mother used to say she thought white azaleas would match the brick. But I like all colors, and I just love flowers. Thanks for visiting.
Hugs back ~

I would say your are doing well with your new camera, & your flowers are so beautiful!! We are just getting some spring like weather here but it is fickle, predictions for snow tomorrow...

Cathy said...

Oh, dear Nancy, I'm sad for you too. The in between weather is hard on the little plants and us too. Thank you, I am doing better than I expected.

What a beautiful profusion of blooms you have! Absolutely lovely. I have *never* been much of a picture taker myself, but blogging does seem to spur one on to do more with the camera. And I think the instant gratification of digital helps me along too. :o) I'm looking forward to seeing a little more of your world.

Cathy said...

Thank you, Jodi. I think the digital camera is what makes it so much easier for me. I could never figure out what to do with the film, etc. :)
I wish I could show you all the cute picture of my grandson climbing his favorite dogwood tree, but my family would not want me to. I'll try to share some more things though. :)

I'm so thankful your brother gave you a nice digital camera. The pictures of your garden areas are lovely.

Azaleas. Wow! They're beautiful, Cathy!

I don't have hanging baskets and know of more than a couple areas where they'd have an impact. Thank you for the idea...your petunia hanging basket is beautiful.

Cathy said...

Mimi, thank you. I would not say I have "progressed beyond you" with your lovely blog and headers ( talk about don't know how)! I believe I am going to have fun with the toy. :)

Lady Jane, thank you. I splurged and bought an inexpensive digital camera. My brother was in town and gave me the lovely petunias. I know it is a hanging basket, but I put it outside in my flower garden, where it is a little more sunny.

Such beautiful flowers! Looks like you have mastered the digital camera, isn't it fun!

Cathy said...

Thank you, Katherine, I am still working on it. :)And yes, it is fun. One of my neighbors asked me what I was doing in the yard last evening. lol

Your pictures are so lovely, Cathy! I agree about the ivy. :) It took me a while to finally get rid of what was growing in our yard. Ivy is pretty, but I think it needs to be contained in a pot. :)

Cathy said...

Thank you, Sharon, the ivy used to be on the side, but now it is coming to the front of the house! I must do something about it soon.

Barbee' said...

There is ivy all around our house, too, and it adds a lot of work trying to keep it in bounds.

The azaleas are beautiful. I have a few. Lost many over the years due to minus 20 degrees temps a few years.

I see you are in the USA, seeing your azaleas and the magnolia, I would guess South Carolina, Mississippi or some such state.(???)

Barbee, Thank you for your nice comments. You were close, I am from North Carolina.
