Word Filled Wednesday

Jesus on Cross

Isaiah 53:4 -
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Isaiah 53:5 -
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Filled With His Glory

Heaven and earth are filled with His glory, the glory of the Lord.

I just realized the words above are from a Christmas song I wrote about the birth of Jesus. Well, the earth is filled with God's glorious creation.

My Dogwood Tree ~ buds

Cherry Tree ~ backyard

Old Gumtree

The sky was so gorgeous from my kitchen window, I had to go outside. My photos don't show the lovely colors.

I went out last night, and the moon was so big and beautiful.

Spring At Last

The first day of spring was such a lovely day, I had to go to my favorite garden shop to browse around. I bought some pansies.

These are the ones I bought to be planted.

I did plant them the other afternoon There is still much work to be done in the garden, but I did not want the ground to get too hard. I must have deleted the other pictures I wanted to show. It is really too late to be working on this!

A pretty little bird in my dogwood tree ~ That car belongs to my neighbor way down the street!

My neighbor's Forsythia bush way in the back of her yard ~

My Weeping Cherry tree in the back yard is just beginning to bloom.

Thanks for looking at my pictures. I am so happy Spring is here.

Word Filled Wednesday

So 2:12 -
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

I just had to do this, since I missed a first day of spring post. This is the view from my kitchen window. The lovely jonquils or daffodils, in the little rabbit vase my sister gave me, are from my neighbor's yard.

El Olam - Eternal God, Everlasting God

Above the Eternal Peace 1894

The name of God in Jill's study this week is El Olam, Eternal God or Everlasting God. I looked up some scripture verses referring to Everlasting God.

Ge 21:33 -
And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.

De 33:27 -
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

Ps 41:13 -
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Ps 90:2 -
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Isa 9:6 -
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isa 40:28 -
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

Isa 60:19 -
The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

Jer 10:10 -
But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

Hab 1:12 -
Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

Joh 3:16 -
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

All praise, glory and honor to our Almighty, Everlasting God, who sees, loves us, and hears and answers our prayers.

Eden's Bridge - El Shaddai

Today the name of God in Jill's study is El Shadday - God Almighty or All-Sufficient God. El, the Hebrew meaning, is might, strength and power. I thought I would share the song El Shaddai. I love Amy Grant's, but found this other video that is also beautiful.

I thank God that He is all powerful and meets all of our needs. Nothing is too hard for Him. He is our one and only Lord, God Almighty. Bless and praise His name, El Shadday.

Perfect in Christ Jesus

Suffer the Children

Colossians 1:28
Perfect in Christ Jesus.

Do you not feel in your own soul that perfection is not in you? Does not every day teach you that? Every tear which trickles from your eye, weeps "imperfection"; every harsh word which proceeds from your lip, mutters "imperfection." You have too frequently had a view of your own heart to dream for a moment of any perfection in yourself. But amidst this sad consciousness of imperfection, here is comfort for you-you are "perfect in Christ Jesus."In God's sight, you are "complete in Him;" even now you are "accepted in the Beloved." But there is a second perfection, yet to be realized, which is sure to all the seed. Is it not delightful to look forward to the time when every stain of sin shall be removed from the believer, and he shall be presented faultless before the throne, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing? The Church of Christ then will be so pure, that not even the eye of Omniscience will see a spot or blemish in her; so holy and so glorious, that Hart did not go beyond the truth when he said-
"With my Saviour's garments on,
Holy as the Holy One."
Then shall we know, and taste, and feel the happiness of this vast but short sentence, "Complete in Christ." Not till then shall we fully comprehend the heights and depths of the salvation of Jesus. Doth not thy heart leap for joy at the thought of it? Black as thou art, thou shalt be white one day; filthy as thou art, thou shalt be clean. Oh, it is a marvellous salvation this! Christ takes a worm and transforms it into an angel; Christ takes a black and deformed thing and makes it clean and matchless in His glory, peerless in His beauty, and fit to be the companion of seraphs. O my soul, stand and admire this blessed truth of perfection in Christ.

The Eyes of the Lord

The second name of God in the study that Jill is leading is El Roi, God Who Sees. I looked up "the eyes of God" in the Bible, and here are a few of the verses.

2Ch 16:9 -
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Ps 11:4 -
The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

Ps 34:15 -
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

Pr 5:21 -
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

Pr 15:3 -
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Am 9:8 -
Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.

Zec 4:10 -
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

1Pe 3:12 -
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Thank God His ears are always open to our cries, and His eyes are on us. He is our awesome God.

Go To Dark Gethsemane - Lenten Hymn

I used to sing this song when I belonged to the Moravian Church. I love their music.

Go to Dark Gethsemane

Go to dark Gethsemane, Ye who feel the tempter's power;
Your Redeemer's conflict see, Watch with Him one bitter hour.
Turn not from His griefs away; Learn of Jesus Christ to pray.

Follow to the judgment hall, View the Lord of life arraigned;
O the wormwood and the gall! O the pangs His soul sustained!
Shun not suffering, shame or loss; Learn of Him to bear the Cross.

Calvary's mournful mountain climb, There, adoring at His feet,
Mark that miracle of time, God's own Sacrifice complete.
"It is finished!" hear Him cry; Learn of Jesus Christ to die.

Early hasten to the tomb, Where they laid His breathless clay;
All is solitude and gloom; Who hath taken Him away?
Christ is risen - He meets our eyes! Saviour, teach us so to rise.

James Montgomery, 1820 C.I. La Trobe, 1790

God's Love and NOAH

I sent this sweet email to a friend, and she loved it. She fixed it so I could post it on my blog. Thanks, Peggy.

GOD'S LOVE displayed through a special bird, NOAH

[this photo is not NOAH]

[The following Story comes from
Bob and Georganne Lenham of Wild Rose Rescue Ranch in Texas, home of Noah the Pigeon
even though many have received it in emails or seen it on the internet]
Wild Rose Rescue Ranch is part of a small team of rehabilitators in east Texas that specialize in different species of wildlife. The 50-acre ranch is a habitat for deer, fawn, rabbits, squirrels, armadillos, skunks, raccoons, horses, possums and birds.

[not the ones in the story either]

These little bunnies, about 6 days old, were attacked by a dog and orphaned. Two out of the litter of five did not survive, and these three were not doing very well.

Enter Noah—the non-releasable, one-legged homing pigeon/rock dove that we have here in rehab.

The Pigeon and the Bunnies
(Photos © Bob Lenham)

Noah kept going over to the bunny cage and looking in—even sleeping in front of the door to the cage. Then, 2 days ago, I only counted 2 bunnies in the cage, so I hurriedly picked Noah up from the front of the cage so I could look inside. And to my surprise—there was the tiny bunny—under Noah's wing—sound asleep!

The Pigeon and the Bunnies

The bunny had crawled through the cage—preferring a featherbed, no doubt. Now, they are all together, and the bunnies are doing GREAT. When the bunnies scoot underneath Noah's feathers, he extends his wings out to surround them—and they snuggle. When one of them moves and they start sticking out here and there, he gently pushes them back under him with his beak!

Update on Noah the pigeon:

"After finding many posts online featuring Noah and the bunnies and reading about the many lives he has touched (his story has been forwarded around the world) we thought we'd post a follow-up and a few new photos.

We knew there was something special about Noah the moment we saw him.

Although the bunnies seem to be his favorite, Noah helps out with many rescue babies here at the Wild Rose Rescue Ranch ...

Now, Noah helps out with many rescue babies here at the ranch...

How wonderful it is to have a full-time soft-feathered nurturer here at the rescue ranch! He cuddles with all the babies as they snuggle under his warm feathers...and he "coos" as if singing them to sleep with a lullaby." ~ Bob & Georgeanne Lenham

Noah and the Bunnies

Noah is truly, truly a God-send.

He will cover you with His feathers
And under His wings you will find refuge.
Psalm 91:4

Please look for the new book "Noah and The Bunnies" to be released in Summer 2010 from "A String of Pearl's Tails." Each book in the series tells the story of a wildlife baby here at Wild Rose Rescue Ranch.

Note from Georgeanne:

"The book “Noah And The Bunnies” will be available soon (around April 2010). Our website is under construction and should be up and running within a few weeks. (wildroserescueranch.com), so please check it out.

Until our website is up, you can read about Noah on the website:http://www.arcforwildlife.com . “Noah And The Bunnies” is book one in a series of stories about Noah and his amazing love for all babies. I am taking orders now, so feel free to email me at lenhamw@aol.co

There are 3 books that will be availalbe in 2010: “Noah And The Bunnies”, “Noah, The Dove”, and a Cd around April, 2010"

Furnace of Affliction

Isaiah 48:10
I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Comfort thyself, tried believer, with this thought: God saith, "I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction." Does not the word come like a soft shower, assuaging the fury of the flame? Yea, is it not an asbestos armour, against which the heat hath no power? Let affliction come-God has chosen me. Poverty, thou mayst stride in at my door, but God is in the house already, and He has chosen me. Sickness, thou mayst intrude, but I have a balsam ready-God has chosen me. Whatever befalls me in this vale of tears, I know that He has "chosen" me. If, believer, thou requirest still greater comfort, remember that you have the Son of Man with you in the furnace. In that silent chamber of yours, there sitteth by your side One whom thou hast not seen, but whom thou lovest; and ofttimes when thou knowest it not, He makes all thy bed in thy affliction, and smooths thy pillow for thee. Thou art in poverty; but in that lovely house of thine the Lord of life and glory is a frequent visitor. He loves to come into these desolate places, that He may visit thee. Thy friend sticks closely to thee. Thou canst not see Him, but thou mayst feel the pressure of His hands. Dost thou not hear His voice? Even in the valley of the shadow of death He says, "Fear not, I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God." Remember that noble speech of Caesar: "Fear not, thou carriest Caesar and all his fortune." Fear not, Christian; Jesus is with thee. In all thy fiery trials, His presence is both thy comfort and safety. He will never leave one whom He has chosen for His own. "Fear not, for I am with thee," is His sure word of promise to His chosen ones in the "furnace of affliction." Wilt thou not, then, take fast hold of Christ, and say-
"Through floods and flames, if Jesus lead,
I'll follow where He goes."

Word Filled Wednesday

Isaiah 55:10 -
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

The snow was really coming down today. I do wish those power lines were not in the way of the beautiful view. I am eagerly awaiting spring.

Elohim - God, Mighty Creator

My friend, Jill, at Forever n Ever n Always is leading a study of " Praying the Names of God" by Ann Spangler. Her first post is beautiful about Elohim God, Mighty Creator. I love the beauty of His Creation. I thought about making a slideshow of the lovely photos I have taken, but I found this wonderful video instead. You will be blessed by joining Jill in this study.

I believe learning and understanding the names of God helps us to know how powerful and awesome He is. And we can use these names in prayer to Him. Thank you, Father for your beautiful Creation and all you have given us. You are the one and only God, the great I AM, and we love you.
