"Jesus Calls Us"

Jesus calls us; o'er the tumult Of our life's wild restless sea, Day by day His sweet voice soundeth, Saying, "Christian, follow Me."

Jesus call us from the worship Of the vain world's golden store, From each idol that would keep us, Saying, "Christian, love me more."

In our joys and in our sorrows, Days of toil and hours of ease, Still He calls in cares and pleasures, "Christians, love Me more than these."

Jesus calls us: by Thy mercies, Savior, may we hear Thy call, Give our hearts to Thine obedience, Serve and love Thee best of all.

Words: Cecil F. Alexander (1852)
Music: William H. Jude (1874)

You can hear the hymn at Trinity Hymnal.

Oh, Cathy, just lovely!! Yes ~ to serve and love Him best of all, oh that I may be obedient to that call!

I just wish I could convey how much it ministers to my heart to get "filled up" with song and art that praises our Lord and is put together by someone else (it blesses me in a different way than when I do them). I am thrilled you do these, Cathy; your posts are a real treasure to me!
